The Future Seekers -- Who Are We?

We are a group of people from different churches in the Houston area who WANT TO PROVIDE AN EDUCATION (AND FUTURE) FOR OUR NEWLY ADOPTED FAMILIES in Peru. We are engineers, accountants, teachers, social workers, housewives, etc. We have been to the areas of Peru where these needy children live. Our new profession, in a sense, is that of Educator Provider!

Purpose

To find caring people that will sponsor a needy child in Peru so that he/she can attend school for 1 year.

What Does It Cost?

In Peru, it takes about $100.00 to purchase the uniforms needed to attend public school. For the daily food, books, pens/pencils, paper, etc., it takes about $35.00 per month. Therefore, to sponsor a child for 1 year, it would take a donation on your part of $415.00.

Why Do The Children Need Your Support?

In short, it's called... POVERTY! Most of these children live in areas or conditions (example 1), (example 2), (example 3), (example 4) that you and I have never experienced. Some of us who have visited their homes have "seen," but have not lived it. Dirt floors, no running water, bathrooms located outside of the house, cardboard roofs or perhaps NO ROOF! A male figure that was only around at conception and was never seen again. A mother that has to work all day selling produce in the streets. A mother that CANNOT AFFORD to send her child to school. And, the POVERTY cycle begins again with this child... UNLESS, we can assist in providing an education!

How do I Make A Donation & Sponsor A Child to Have a Future?

After deciding that you want to assist in sending a child to school for 1 year, you will be assigned the child at the top of the list to support. Either contact one of the representatives of our "Advisory Board" shown below or click the "I want to sponsor this child" link next to the child at the top of the list. You will need to indicate that a check of $415.00 (or what ever amount you wish, less than or more than) will be sent to:

• Living Word Lutheran Church
  • For Support of the Child in Peru to Attend School for 1 year
  • Child's Name
  • Church Name of Child in Peru
• 3700 South Mason Road
• Katy, Texas 77450

We would ask that you let our 'Web Servant for the Master' know by email that this has occurred. He will then move the name and/or photo of the child from the "list that Needs Support" page to the "Students Supported Page." If possible, we would love to have a photo of you so (the sponsor) so that we can place it next to the child. The children would very much like to know what their sponsor looks like. Ideas!

Perhaps, you feel that you cannot afford to support a child by yourself. Perhaps, you are a member of a group such as a: card club, small group at church, Bible Study Group, etc. Together it may become affordable to assist these children that SO NEED YOUR HELP!

Information about schools in Peru:

• School begins in April and continues until December in Peru.
• If you send funds to sponsor a child after April for a child at Luz Divina, it will be kept for that child until the next school year.
• For Luz Divina Lutheran Church, Pastor Benjamin Navarro and a team from the church will coordinate the scholarship funds.
• Pastor Benjamin and the same team from Luz Divina will follow the progress of the child in school to assure that the child is using the funds wisely.
• John Warner (Katy, Texas) will notify sponsors that a year has ended and ask if they would like to sponsor the child again.
