Martha Raines:

For those of you who are new to Living Word, Martha Raines was a long-time ACTIVE member of Living Word Lutheran Church. As written in the Bible, she was a "Martha" -- a VERY hard worker. Out side of church she was also a math teacher and department chair at Mayde Creek High School (MCHS) until her retirement. Although she was a hard worker, she was extremely kind and thoughtful. At MCHS she was instrumental in creating the volunteer program. This program has now spread to the entire district. She died suddenly from a very aggressive brain tumor two years ago.

Currently, the Katy Independent School District has plans for building two new elementary schools and are in the stage of picking names for them. If you would like to submit Martha's name as a candidate to the person in charge of collecting the entries (Sharon Nowak) for KISD, please do so by clicking here.
