Education - The Learning Center :

The Learning Center is a Christian ministry of Living Word Evangelical Lutheran Church. Living Word has been a congregation since 1976.

At our former location we worked with a private daycare operation on our premises for 10 years. In our vision for the future, one of our goals was to open our own Christian based preschool as a ministry to the community. Our grand opening was on June 2, 1997. We are proud to have our school accredited by the National Accreditiation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs.

The Learning Center seeks to provide a safe place where children are nurtured and shown God's love. Our commitment to offer the best possible program, with Christian faith and values, is a strong one. Our center offers a developmentally appropriate program focusing on growth of the whole child, physically, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and spiritually. We are thankful to be partners with you in raising healthy, happy, well adjusted, and faith-filled children.

Our facility was built in 1996 and offers 16 separate classrooms as well as a fully equipped kitchen, teachers workrooms, utilities room and offices. We have about 37 staff including lead teachers, assistant teachers, teachers aides, kitchen staff.

The Learning Center offers several programs to meet the needs of the families in the community. We have 2, 3, and 5 day preschool programs as well as 2, 3, and 5 day extended care and preschool programs for children ages six (6) weeks to five (5) years. We also have a before and after school program for ages five to ten years.

We offer so many carefully designed programs, just to fit the needs of the children in our care, that we encourage you to call our Director Susan Wallisa. Even better would be for you to come and pay us a visit, we would love to meet you and show you what goes on at TLC!
